Esthetic Finesse is a cosmetic procedure that allows the dentist to reshape or repair your smile using a porcelain based composite resin. An esthetic finesse is particularly ideal if you’re insecure about the appearance of your smile and want an alternative to invasive veneers. An esthetic finesse is done with no anesthetic, no grinding of teeth, and done all in one day. This is the most conservative option which only enhances the natural beauty of the teeth, it does not damage the teeth in any way, so there is no sensitivity or increased risk of needing additional procedures (like root canals).
As with most cosmetic procedures, it is possible for the material to wear or discolor over time, eventually needing to be replaced; however, the porcelain based composite resin is very durable and typically lasts many years.

What does esthetic finesse involve?
To begin, Dr. Zoulas will talk about which teeth we will need to be involved for the best result. She will take a digital mold of the teeth and photos for the laboratory to create a mock up.
At the next visit, Dr. Zoulas will try on the mock up with a temporary material to make sure everything looks perfect before starting. She will also work with you to decide on a color that will most enhance your smile. Once everything is decided, a precise injection molding technique is used to permanently transfer the new shape and color to your teeth. This is different than "composite bonding" in that it utilizes digital technology to transfer a precise single strong layer of porcelain based composite resin to the teeth. Traditional composite bonding is done layer by layer "free hand" and can have an inconsistent or uneven appearance with seams between the layers that can stain over time.
